Gas Safe Registered
Regulated gas work on boilers, pipework and gas appliances must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Homeowners can confirm registration on the official Gas Safe Register using the business number below.
Etchells Plumbing Services is a Gas Safe registered plumbing and heating business based in South Birmingham. We work for residential and commercial customers: boilers that have stopped, replacements that need planning around existing pipework, heating systems that no longer suit the property, and 24 hour emergency plumbing when something fails out of hours.
We do not cover the whole of the West Midlands. The regular working area is South and South-West Birmingham, Bromsgrove district and surrounding Worcestershire towns towards Kidderminster.
We cover South Birmingham and surrounding Worcestershire areas. Each area page explains the local housing and the heating work we carry out there.
A boiler that locks out, loses pressure or produces no hot water needs diagnosis before parts are ordered. We inspect the appliance and explain whether repair is realistic or whether replacement would be the more durable option.
Annual servicing checks how the boiler is running while it is still usable. It is the planned visit that sits alongside repairs and replacements — not a substitute for fixing a fault that has already left you without heat.
Replacement work has to fit the heating system already in the house: flue position, controls, system type and the condition of the pipework. We plan the swap around those constraints rather than treating every job as a standard exchange.
Some properties need more than a new boiler. Full heating installation covers the boiler, pipework, radiators and controls when the existing system is incomplete, poorly laid out or due for replacement.
Gas cookers must be installed by a suitably registered engineer. We carry out gas cooker installation and replacements that fall within our Gas Safe registration for homes and businesses in our working area.
Landlords and letting agents need a Landlord Gas Safety Record for rented properties with gas appliances. We carry out these inspections — commonly called CP12 certificates — as a Gas Safe registered engineer across our coverage area.
Urgent loss of heating, serious leaks and boiler lockouts that cannot wait for a planned visit. If you smell gas, leave the property and call the National Gas Emergency Service first.
